OUTRIDING THE DEVIL - Texas Premiere Tour Event
"An unbelievable true story brought to life on screen” - Sports Illustrated
The multi-week #1 ranked Western documentary movie on IMDb makes its Austin debut at the Eastside Cinema during Rodeo Austin. Following its worldwide premiere at the recent National Finals Rodeo (NFR), ProRodeo.com declared OUTRIDING THE DEVIL to be "one of the great rodeo movies" and Barrel Horse News described it as “a film that's poised to make history.” Some of the biggest names in rodeo - including Stetson Wright, Bob Tallman, Shad “Money” Mayfield, Ky Hamilton, Zeke Thurston, and Fallon Taylor - join with Mo Brings Plenty and stars of the YELLOWSTONE TV universe and country music (Ned LeDoux, Radney Foster and Chancey Williams) to share one of the most incredible comebacks in rodeo history: in 2010, Texas Rodeo Hall of Famer, Angela Ganter, a world champion barrel racer, was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer, and in a decade-long fight for life she went from “death’s door to the winner’s circle” at the Calgary Stampede upon her remarkable return to rodeo. However, OUTRIDING THE DEVIL is about more than Angela Ganter’s indomitable will and courage to overcome cancer and return to rodeo; on a sweeping canvas that stretches from frontier Texas in 1850 to Cheyenne Frontier Days in 2024, Ganter’s life and pioneering ranching heritage serve as both living history and a metaphor for Western culture and rodeo. Both Lily Wright (younger sister of rodeo icons Stetson, Ryder, Statler and Rusty Wright) and 2024 All-Around Champion, Shad "Money" Mayfield, make their acting debuts in the film's dramatizations. With unique insights from today's superstars of the sport and rare archive footage of legends from yesteryear. Narrated by Forrie J. Smith (YELLOWSTONE).
With an introduction by director, Raen LeVell.
